Supporting Work

LMNS development and assurance

Objective

Develop the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) governance structure by developing a clear action plan which supports function and performance by completing a Capacity and Capability self-assessment which incorporates the Perinatal Quality Surveillance principal.

Where are we now?

Following submission of a self-assessment against the national Capacity and Capability Framework, the LMNS for the North East and North Cumbria submitted an action plan on 31 October 2022 to address the areas of improvement identified in the self-assessment.

Digital strategy

Objective

By October 2022 all trusts have an up-to-date digital strategy which links to the trust’s wider direction and links to the What Good Looks Like framework.

Where are we now?

The Local Maternity and Neonatal System has produced its own digital maternity strategy and a programme of work was in place to support digital midwives in all trusts to develop their own. All eight trusts produced their own digital strategy which were aligned to the regional strategy and the What Good Looks Like framework.
